Quilted Heart Cushion

A big Thanks to my good friend Abby (check out her loving quilts and handmade products https://www.facebook.com/HandmadeQuiltsAndGifts) for teaching me how to make this beautiful quilted cushion. Had an awesome time at her house learning how patient you need to be to prefect this skill. I made this this in 4/5 hours, having cups of tea, eating biscuits and watching films while having a fun craft night. The cushion is made up of beautiful Romo fabrics to give it a plush feel. http://www.romo.com

Very technical with a quilting diagram and deciding which fabrics should go where

Using a rotary cutter, large cutting mat, quilting ruler and sewing machine

Organising the layout of the fabrics before I sew together

All stitched up

Sewing the back fabric. Making a pocket for the cushion

The finished product in a setting

Thanks for reading my blog and looking at my photos

Illuminated Trail

I spent a Christmas night at Kew Gardens on an illuminated trail through the enchanted winter landscapes.

The trail was lit by lanterns and flood lights changing the colours of the trees. Making the natural settings look magical and slightly haunting at the same time.

Lanterns guiding us through the trail

Primary colour lanterns

Lanterns shaped in an archway

landscape lit up by flood lights

Lanterns reflecting in the water

Bright green bamboo

The lights made the trees look like they were dancing to the music

Fire Mandala - torches arranged in fibonacci sequence 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21 etc

Giant Lotus Installation reflecting in the water

The Palm Tree House was lit up for a light show at the end of the trail
